An open row is a question WilmU has yet to answer publicly, not a verdict in either direction, and it describes licensure preparation, not permission for clinicals. New Hampshire nurses eyeing an NP route should raise it with the Assistant Chair for the FNP or PMHNP track, and with the Online Learning team that handles WilmU's state authorization, before sending an application. What New Hampshire's Board regulates
The Board of Nursing works under OPLC, New Hampshire's professional licensing office, and its written clinical rule for schools based in other states covers pre-licensure education. Under Nur 602.15(j), such a program registers its intent with the Board in advance, warns the Board six weeks before each placement, and files a yearly petition, a placement form for every rotation and a signed agreement for each preceptor.
WilmU offers no pre-licensure nursing program, and OPLC's page on education programs places post-licensure programs, for example RN to BSN or RN to MSN, beyond the Board's regulation. The published rule says nothing specific about graduate APRN tracks, so ask Online Learning at WilmU what New Hampshire expects before an NP or DNP clinical there.
One more wrinkle: one published version of Nur 602.15 lists January 23, 2026 as its expiration, so ask the Board whether it is still in force. AANP puts New Hampshire in its full practice group.
Where NP students look in New Hampshire
Southern New Hampshire is where most people live. The Manchester-Nashua metro counts about 433,000 residents, some 459,000 more live on the New Hampshire side of greater Boston, and Concord anchors a smaller area of about 158,000.
The large systems start with Dartmouth Health, which includes Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. HCA Healthcare's Catholic Medical Center, Concord Hospital's health system, the Elliot system and Southern New Hampshire Health complete the list. Treat every one of them as an example of where NP students look; each makes its own call on students.
Licensing for New Hampshire clinicals
New Hampshire has been a compact state for RNs since January 2018, so the privilege to practice there comes with a New Hampshire license or with a multistate license held in any other compact state. WilmU's own NP condition, a registered nurse license valid for the clinical's state, still decides which license your faculty will look for; our RN license for clinicals page walks through it.
For advanced practice, the APRN Compact is not law in New Hampshire, and no state has that compact running yet. NP licensure after graduation therefore goes through the New Hampshire Board directly.

Does WilmU's FNP program lead to licensure in New Hampshire?
WilmU has not said. Its table leaves the MSN-FNP and the FNP Graduate Certificate at Not Determined Yet for New Hampshire, with the PMHNP certificate and BSN to DNP in the same position. Request a written answer from the NP Program Chair and from Online Learning before you apply, and check the state's entry in NC-SARA's licensure directory.
Can a WilmU DNP student complete practice hours in New Hampshire?
The DNP itself meets New Hampshire's educational licensing requirements on WilmU's table. Where your hours happen is a separate question: WilmU pledges to honor every state's rules for field experiences beyond Delaware, and most DNP Projects take place where the student already works. Confirm a New Hampshire workplace plan with the DNP Program Chair.
Does New Hampshire want notice before an out-of-state clinical placement?
For pre-licensure programs, yes: six weeks' notice per placement plus a yearly petition, rotation forms and preceptor agreements under Nur 602.15(j). OPLC treats post-licensure programs such as RN to BSN as beyond the Board's reach. For a graduate NP track, ask WilmU's Online Learning office which New Hampshire steps, if any, apply.
Is a multistate RN license valid in New Hampshire?
Yes, and it has been since January 2018. A compact multistate license issued elsewhere gives you the privilege to practice in New Hampshire. WilmU's NP clinicals call for an RN license good in the site's state, so confirm with your course faculty that your multistate license satisfies it.
