Where Connecticut stands on WilmU's table
Connecticut is Meets Educational Licensing Requirements across the board, in each of WilmU's seven nursing rows. That answers one question: whether the program's education supports a Connecticut license. Where you train is a different question, and the page is undated.

Connecticut's rules for programs from other states
Connecticut's answer for programs based elsewhere is a deemed-approved status under Regs. Conn. State Agencies 20-90-59, with no separate application described. Visiting programs that use Connecticut agencies still bring Connecticut's structure along, summed up here.

These rules target programs that ready graduates for initial licensure and say nothing of APRN programs. Full practice after a transition, and who can precept
Connecticut NPs earn full practice, in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners' terms, after a collaborative stretch with a physician lasting at least three years and 2,000 hours. That splits Connecticut NPs into two groups for your purposes: veterans who practice independently, and newer clinicians still in their collaborative years.
Delaware's Board, which governs WilmU's APRN programs, looks for a preceptor license (APRN, physician, PA or pharmacist) that is active and unencumbered, comparable to your focus, and valid in Connecticut when the site is in Connecticut. Hartford, Fairfield County, New Haven and Waterbury
Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, with roughly 1.17 million residents, is Connecticut's biggest metro. Bridgeport-Stamford-Danbury, close to 978,000, comes second, then New Haven and Waterbury-Shelton. On the system side, think Yale New Haven Health, Hartford HealthCare, UConn Health (the University of Connecticut's) and Trinity Health Of New England, joined by Northwell Health from New York, which now operates western Connecticut hospitals that belonged to Nuvance, Danbury Hospital among them. Each chooses which schools' students it accepts, so read these names as a map of the terrain, not as open doors.
Licensing for Connecticut clinicals
Licensing sits with the Connecticut Board of Examiners for Nursing, which operates inside the state's public health department. With the compact now live, either a Connecticut RN license or your NLC home state's multistate license will do, and either one satisfies WilmU's license condition for clinicals, together with current CPR. No APRN Compact law exists in Connecticut, so the advanced practice license you seek after graduating is Connecticut's own.

Questions WilmU students ask
Can I use my Delaware multistate license for a Connecticut practicum?
Yes, as of October 1, 2025. Connecticut now honors multistate licenses issued by other compact states, Delaware among them, so a multistate license with Delaware as your home state reaches a Connecticut site, which is exactly the license WilmU's clinical rule asks for. Just keep it current through each clinical course.
Is there a Connecticut application WilmU files before my clinical?
Under Connecticut's deemed-approval rule, an outside program counts as approved once its home board has approved it and its standards equal or beat Connecticut's; no separate application is described. Because those rules were drafted with prelicensure programs in mind, ask WilmU's Online Learning office how the contract and ratio requirements fit your practicum.
How many students can one Connecticut preceptor take?
Two, under Connecticut's regulations for programs preparing graduates for licensure, which also cap each faculty member at 16 precepted students. WilmU's public pages state no NP ratio, so if a preceptor you like already hosts a student, raise it with the Assistant Chair for your track.
Does WilmU's DNP meet Connecticut's requirements?
Yes: the DNP and BSN to DNP both read Meets for Connecticut on WilmU's table. DNP practice is guided by a doctorally prepared experiential engagement preceptor, and WilmU notes the project is usually carried out where the student works, so a Connecticut employer is a natural setting. The DNP Program Chair can confirm your plan.
