WilmU's locations and what happens at each one

Wilmington University's main campus is in New Castle, Delaware, with more locations at Brandywine (in Wilmington) and Dover, plus six affiliate sites: five in New Jersey and one at Dover Air Force Base. Most graduate nursing programs are online, so for NP and DNP students the campus matters less than home: your clinical site depends on where you live and where you hold an RN license.

WilmU's Delaware locations

WilmU lists three university locations in Delaware. Each nursing program page says where the program runs, and for graduate NP and DNP study the answer is online.

Older catalogs placed the FNP on campus. In 2021-22, students could enroll in it at Brandywine, Georgetown or the Wilson Graduate Center; by 2024-25 the listed sites were Dover and the northern Delaware campuses. Today's MSN-FNP page lists the program as online, as do the pages for the FNP and PMHNP Graduate Certificates, BSN to DNP and the DNP.

Affiliate sites in New Jersey and at Dover Air Force Base

WilmU's affiliate locations offer a path to completing a bachelor's degree. Four serve New Jersey counties: Burlington (Mt. Laurel), Camden (Blackwood), Cumberland (Vineland) and Gloucester (Sewell). Two more sit on military installations, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey and Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.

None of the graduate nursing program pages names an affiliate site, and the RN to BSN lists New Castle and online. No Maryland location appears on WilmU's list at all.

For an RN in South Jersey, the practical question is where the clinical will be and whether your RN license is valid in that state. The New Jersey guide covers that state's side, and the Maryland guide does the same for students across the line to the south and west.

Online programs and their in-person pieces

WilmU's online graduate nursing programs still carry a few in-person elements, and WilmU's own pages do not always agree on them.

MSN-FNP seminars: the program page says practicum students attend face-to-face seminars twice yearly, yet lists the format as Online and gives no meeting place. More on that mismatch: simulation and seminars.
DNP: WilmU calls it 100% online, without any residency on campus, and students may present the finished project in person or virtually. The undated DNP packet paints another picture: a hybrid cohort meeting for weekend intensives at Brandywine.
DNP + MBA and DNP with Graduate Certificates: their pages list New Castle, Brandywine or classroom formats alongside online.
Nurse Anesthesiology DNP: coursework online, with classes, skills labs and simulation in person, delivered with ChristianaCare, which supplies the simulation center.

WilmU's public pages name no nursing building and no NP simulation lab. Planned simulation does count inside FNP clinical hours; ask the Assistant Chair for the FNP program where it takes place.

Georgetown and the Wilson Graduate Center

Two locations appear in some WilmU sources and not in others. Georgetown is missing from the current locations list, and its old web address now opens the general Locations page, yet older catalog text placed the MSN-FNP at Georgetown and at the Wilson Graduate Center.

The Wilson Graduate Center is the stranger case. The 2026-27 catalog still mentions a Learning Commons there, while the current Locations page leaves it out and its programs-at-this-location page shows no programs.

If an older document, a classmate or a search result sends you to either site, check the current program page before you plan travel, and ask the NP Program Chair where in-person sessions for your cohort actually meet.

Why your campus is not your clinical site

For NP and DNP students, the location that counts most is the one where you see patients. WilmU's NP pages link every clinical to an RN license from the state hosting it, so a student enrolled online from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, or Salisbury, Maryland, plans around that state's rules and that state's clinics, not New Castle's.

Students who do live near the Delaware locations have a landscape of their own. Where we search for WilmU students

We search where you live, not where WilmU's buildings stand. Give us your home ZIP code, your RN license state and your course, and we look for preceptors within a sensible drive in the right focus: family practice across the lifespan for the FNP practicums, psychiatric mental health for the PMHNP practicums, and doctorally prepared leaders for the DNP.

Where is Wilmington University's main campus?

In New Castle, Delaware, near the Delaware Memorial Bridge. It offers in-person advising, registration and transcript evaluation, and the University Library's main building, the Peoples Library Building, is there. WilmU's other Delaware locations are Brandywine, in the city of Wilmington, and Dover, in Kent County.

Does WilmU have campuses in New Jersey?

Yes, as affiliate sites rather than full campuses. Four serve New Jersey counties and one sits at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and WilmU presents them as routes to finishing a bachelor's degree. Is WilmU's FNP program online or on campus?

WilmU lists the MSN-FNP as online. The same page mentions twice-yearly face-to-face seminars for students in the practicums without naming a place, and older catalogs offered FNP enrollment at Delaware campuses. Put the seminar question to the NP Program Chair early, especially if you live far from Delaware.

Does WilmU have a campus in Georgetown or in Maryland?

Neither appears on WilmU's current locations list. Georgetown's old web address now opens the general Locations page, although older catalog text placed the MSN-FNP there. No Maryland location is listed, so Maryland-based students take WilmU's online nursing programs from home.

Where do WilmU Nurse Anesthesiology students do clinicals?

It is the one WilmU nursing program with a published site list. The program's clinical sites page covers five systems: ChristianaCare (Christiana and Wilmington hospitals), Bayhealth (Kent General and the Sussex Campus), Nemours locations in Wilmington, Deptford and Malvern, TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland, and Beebe Healthcare.
